Sarah arrived looking for Laura with a mischievous smile and three water balloons.
"Today," she said, "the war is serious. And whoever loses... you know what to do: surrender!"
Laura, who always accepted challenges even though she had absolutely no aim, replied:
"Go ahead, but be careful. I'm delicate."
"You'll lose even playing rock, paper, scissors against yourself."
They started throwing the balloons into the air. Drops flew, the girls screamed, until Laura tried to catch one and dropped it like it was soap.
First round lost.
The punishment: make a figure eight with your tail.
Laura spun, twirled, wobbled, and ended up laughing so hard she almost fell.
"Point for me," Sarah said proudly.
The game continued, but Sarah was so focused on not dropping the next balloon that she didn't even think about stopping for anything else. When she exploded and lost, Laura clapped excitedly. "It's your turn to be punished," huffed Sarah, bent down, and received playful pats that made her jump.
"Ow! Watch it, you brute!"
While they were playing the third round, Sarah couldn't hold it and peed herself. Laura lost again without even understanding how. Sarah, with her utter laziness and strange ideas, said to her:
"Look, if I'm already a mess, you should be too. That way we'll play fairer."
"You're impossible, Sarah."
They decided to go deeper into the woods and sat down to chat, still soaked, covered in mud, with leaves stuck to them and those uncomfortable lumps from the water fight, which ended up squashing their crotches.
"What a sight!" said Laura.
"Yes, but how funny."
When they couldn't laugh anymore, they went home.
