relief
Sarah didn't understand what was happening. Her little belly was round, taut as if it were holding a secret. She walked with her lips pressed together, looking at everyone with that nervous smile of everything's fine, everything's fine but NO, everything wasn't fine.
She ran. Literally. A life-or-death mission.
Closed door. Silence. Suspense. A full bladder and a piece of shit stuck, preventing it from coming out.
And then glorious relief as she let it all out.
Sarah emerged seconds later, her hair moving in slow motion, her eyes shining, and with that expression of someone who had just solved the universe's problems.
Never underestimate the power of letting go of what weighs you down, she said, winking.
From that day on, she lives lighter and with stories to tell.
